Ezekial Thatcher was clerk of the Parkville School District, Shasta County, Calif. He emigrated to California from Pennsylvania in 1850 and helped establish the first school district in the Parkville area. He is descended from the Thatchers of Uffington, England, the same family as Denis Thatcher, husband of British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. From the description of H.H. In 1919, two Nevada regents, George F. Talbot and Walter E. Pratt, tried to persuade the Board of Regents to dismiss university president Walter E. Clark by presenting a resolution listing charges against him. These included condoning drunkenness and poor student discipline, misusing his entertainment fund, and other improprieties. When the motion failed, Talbot carried his charges to the legislature. The legislature appointed a committee to hear the charges, resulting in Clark being cleared of ...
